Why there is no quality slider when converting PNG to PDF

PNG enters the document without loss, so there is nothing to set: every pixel of the original is the same in the PDF, and text and edges stay sharp at every zoom. The document weight follows from the amount of detail in the image: the 233.2 KB test screenshot gave a PDF of 255.2 KB. If the document has to be light and holds photos, save them as JPG first and use the JPG to PDF converter.

Tips for converting PNG to PDF

A few tips to help you avoid common issues during conversion:

Very large files
Converting images above 4000×4000 pixels may be slower and strain the browser. If processing many large files, consider splitting them into batches of 10–20.
Document weight
PNG enters the PDF without loss, so the document weight follows from the amount of detail in the image, not from settings. Save photos as JPG first and use the JPG to PDF converter if the document has to be light.
Transparency

Our own measurement from 6 September 2026 in a Chromium-based browser. The image enters the document without loss as a compressed PNG stream, so the screenshot and the icon weigh little more in the PDF than the files themselves, and the photo even less, because the PDF encoder packs it tighter than the original file. With the Combine all images into one PDF document option checked, all images went onto separate pages of one document weighing 3.54 MB.
